During this game one would have thought the league table was upside down. Northwood second bottom and Beaconsfield second top. Hopefully all the Woods players had their off night together, and will be back to "service as normal” in the next match.
In a very scrappy first half Beaconsfield took the lead on 22 minutes when sloppy defending allowed the right winger to get behind his marker and slot the ball home.
Midway through the half the referee injured himself and after an 8 minute stoppage whilst he got treatment and a linesman could be found, the half petered out.
Within five minutes of the restart Will Hudson fired in a shot from 30 yards which came back off the crossbar to the feet of prolific scorer John Sonuga, who fired home for his ninth goal of the season.
A number of substitutions were made and Beaconsfield won a corner on the left, which wasn’t cleared, and left a simple tap-in for goal number two. Unfortunately the Woods heads dropped and Beaconsfield could and should have added a lot more goals in addition the one they got on the hour.
Aaron Bufton made two exceptional saves low down in the dying minutes to keep the score respectable. All in all a game quickly to be forgotten.
